Watch the full segment.
Italy’s wine sector continues to represent excellence on the international stage, with revenues exceeding €14 billion.
According to recent estimates, 2025 production is up compared to 2024: +8–10% nationally, with peaks of +18% in the Marche region. This brings the harvest back to average levels compared with recent years, helping to restore a productive balance after several fluctuating seasons.
However, these figures must be interpreted strategically to avoid overproduction and to ensure sustainable growth over time.
The interview also explored the evolving international landscape, with particular focus on US market tariffs and the reactions of competing countries such as France, which faces similar challenges in exports and agricultural policies.
Agronomist and lecturer Roberto Bruni, from the Istituto Agrario Ulpiani, offered insights on education and training, emphasising how the preparation of the new generation of wine professionals is changing: education, research, and innovation are key elements in meeting the future challenges of the wine industry.
