Pelago, the best from the 90s.

It belongs to Francesco Annibali, one of the Doctor Wine partners, the pen that tells us the Pelago’s success from the time of London International Wine Challenge in 1994. With a brief interview to Michele Bernetti.

“Pelago is a pure son of the Nineties, years in which was popular to think that to deal with foreign markets was essential to dignify the native varieties with the Bordolesi ones”, Pelago was born from the collaboration with the enologist Giacomo Tachis and it is the result of a research pushed to international vine varieties and their integration in local areas.

"In the beginning we wanted to realize the classic bordolese product, limiting the union of cabernet sauvignon and merlot. Tachis decided to introduce also the montepulciano, and he did it till 2001 when the technical guide was taken by Giuseppe Caviola”.
