Wine Guides 2019: from the Award “Una Vita per il Vino” by Doctor Wine to Massimo Bernetti, to the critics’ scores

This is the time of the year when wine guides confer awards and recognitions.

The list of our awarded wines is long but over all there is a very prestigious honor we would like to celebrate, that is "Una Vita per il Vino" award, given to Massimo Bernetti  by Daniele Cernilli in the Essential Guide to Wine Italy. An Oscar to his career, delivered by the hands of Doctor Wine himself in Milan last Sunday, October 14th.

About wine awards let’s start mentioning our Vecchie Vigne 2016,Verdicchio dei Castelli of Jesi DOC Classico Superiore, which got three awards winning the Tre Bicchieri by Gambero Rosso, the title of Grande Vino by Slow Wine and last but not least the Corona of Vini Buoni d'Italia, signed by Touring. This is an award attributed to excellent wines from native vines, and it has been also given to Centovie 2016, our organic Pecorino produced in Roseto degli Abruzzi.

The podium goes to our Pelago 2014, winner of 4 Viti, the prestigious certificate of excellence of Vitae, the guide of the Italian Sommelier Association. A double recognition then comes from Bibenda, another guide managed by the Italian Sommelier Foundation, that has assigned the famous Cinque Grappoli to Maximo 2016 and Plenio 2015. Maximo also got the Super Tre Stelle of the Guida ai Vini di Veronelli while Plenio 2015 obtained a special mention on the prestigious Wine Spectator, one of the most influential wine magazine in the world, which included Plenio in the top 100 list with an excellent score of 90 out of 100.

A long succession of prizes that continues with an important confirmation for Campo San Giorgio 2013, to which Daniele Cernilli, for the fifth consecutive time, has given the Faccino Doctor Wine on his Guida Essenziale ai vini d’Italia.

All these recognitions are prestigious goals, but also the best incentive to improve and invest on vines from Marche and Abruzzo.

Absolutely an excellent year, also enriched by Casal di Serra 2017, Gold Medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards.
