The Conero appellation by James Suckling

Second leg of the journey with James Suckling. This time the focus of the American critic is on Conero wines.

Here are the scores and reviews resulting from a very precise selection and tasting process:

Campo San Giorgio 2019 - 92 Pt

Inviting, spicy black fruit nose with a hint of black licorice. Medium-bodied with a savory palate, but there’s persistent fruit, too. The tannins give gentle support and drive. Clean and tasty finish. Good energy here. Drink now.

Pelago 2019 - 92 Pt

A pleasant, fruity red with blackcurrant and blackberry character that shows nice mineral freshness. Medium-bodied with excellent balance and non-impeding tannins. This exudes clarity and drinkability. Nicely done. Drink now

CÚMARO 2019 - 91 Pt

Complex nose of ripe black fruits, iodine, spice and toasted coconut. Medium- to full-bodied with a tasty, savory palate, driven by well-integrated tannins and persistent fruit. Fresh to the end, where a little hint of walnut-shell seems finally to betray its age. Drink now
