Wine, Wellness and Experiences: The 2026 Season Opens at Hotel Monteconero

Wine tourism continues to be one of the most dynamic drivers of the Italian wine industry. Data presented in Verona by UniCredit and Nomisma Wine Monitor highlights a rapidly growing sector: in 2025, it generated more than €3 billion in value for wineries, accounting on average for 21% of total revenue.

The report, developed in partnership with Vinitaly and in collaboration with the Associazione Nazionale Città del Vino, points to a clear shift in demand. Interest is rising in immersive, multisensory experiences (48%), slow and local tourism (43%), and personalized, exclusive offerings (42%). While visitors are still mainly Italian—especially couples and families—the international audience is steadily growing, reflecting increasing global interest in Italy’s wine regions.

Against this backdrop, Umani Ronchi has evolved its approach by expanding its range of experiences. From winery tours and tastings to vineyard activities—including picnics among the vines and safari tours—we have developed a model focused on authenticity and direct connection with the land.

A key part of this vision is the Hotel Monteconero, located in the heart of the Parco Naturale del Conero. Set within a former Camaldolese abbey and overlooking the Adriatic Sea from 550 meters above sea level, it brings together history, nature, and wine in a truly unique setting. More than a destination, it is a gateway to the region, offering tastings, vineyard activities, guided hikes, and experiences that connect nature, cuisine, and local traditions. In line with current trends, the offering continues to evolve with increasingly tailored experiences designed to create an informal and immersive connection with the landscape and our wines.

The day unfolds across different moments: from the Bar Bistrot, open from morning through the evening, to the restaurant led by chef Mauro Garbuglia, where traditional dishes from the Marche region are reinterpreted with a focus on seasonality and wine pairings. From June onwards, themed Friday evenings will further enrich the calendar, with tasting menus exploring the dialogue between food, wine, and cocktails.

The reopening for the 2026 season marks another step forward in the development of a widespread hospitality model that Umani Ronchi has built over time, linking different locations across the region—from the Grand Hotel Palace and its Wine Not? bistrot to Villa Bianchi in the Verdicchio area. This network brings together coast and inland, city and countryside, turning every stay into a complete discovery experience.

An experiential ecosystem that brings together wine, hospitality, wellness, and territory—responding to evolving traveler expectations while promoting local excellence in a sustainable way.
