Umani Ronchi on Tour with the Istituto Grandi Marchi. Destination: Tokyo and Seoul

Umani Ronchi took part in the Asian tour organised by the Istituto Grandi Marchi, which stopped in Tokyo and Seoul for two events dedicated to promoting high-quality Italian wine in Asian markets. The initiative saw the active participation of the 18 family-run wineries that make up the group.

These two strategic events were designed to strengthen our presence in a region that, according to the Nomisma Wine Monitor report presented in Rome in December 2023, shows a growing affinity with the Italian winemaking philosophy.

The tour began on Monday 2 June in Tokyo, coinciding with Italy’s Republic Day, at the prestigious Peninsula Hotel. The event featured a masterclass led by wine educator Isao Miyajima, followed by a walk-around tasting showcasing a selection of wines from the member wineries. Umani Ronchi contributed its interpretation of Italian excellence with the Verdicchio Historical 2019, which sparked considerable interest among Japanese industry professionals.

On Wednesday 4 June, the event moved to Seoul, at the JW Marriott Dongdaemun, following a similar format: a masterclass conducted by In Soon Lee and a walk-around tasting open to South Korean trade professionals, press, and influencers, who showed strong interest in Italian wines and the stories behind their regions of origin.

Our participation reaffirms our commitment to international promotion, with growing receptiveness towards Italian wine culture.
