James Suckling & Le Marche

New scores from international tasting tables. Let's start from le Marche and Verdicchio to recount the point of view of the American critic, who has just published scores and reviews of our wines, as a result of deep and punctual tastings.

Vecchie Vigne 2021, 93 pt
The complex aromas of ripe white and citrus fruit, together with a delicate honeyed touch, are reflected on the fullish, medium-bodied palate that is round, silky and packed with lightly honeyed fruit flavors. All in focus. Balanced. Interesting and unexpected marsiglia aftertaste. This is super-refined Verdicchio. From organically grown grapes. Drink now.

Plenio 2021, 93 pt
I like the fresh herbs that greet your nose, such as basil and lemon balm. Dig deeper for the ripe citrus and apple fruit. It all comes together nicely on the palate, which is medium-bodied and focused, yet silky and relaxed at the same time. Plenty to enjoy here and now, but, if you’re feeling adventurous, it’s tempting to see what happens with another year or two in bottle

Le Busche 2021, 92 pt
A smooth and fresh chardonnay with pleasant lemon and lime-meringue character on a medium body with a dense, silky mouthfeel and nicely balanced acidity to keep it focused. Long, controlled finish. Not overly complex, but well made and delicious. Drink now.

Casal di Serra 2022, 91 pt
Inviting aromas of apple, citrus fruit and floral highlights follow through to a medium-bodied palate with a lightly chalky edge to the texture and plenty of clean, fruity flavor. From organically grown grapes. Nicely balanced and delicious. Drink now

Villa Bianchi 2022, 88 pt
Very savory and minerally on the nose, with some gooseberry and green grape-like fruit poking through. Medium-bodied with rather tangy, mineral character on the palate and a salty, grapey finish. Simple, but refreshing. Drink now.
