Luigi Piersanti explains winter short pruning

In January some days are dedicated to winter pruning, a delicate moment in the life of our plants. It is precisely in this phase that we plan the production for next season, taking into consideration the story and health of each of them.

These days we are working in the Conero area, in a Montepulciano vineyard planted in 1998 with 5600 vines per hectare. We follow how short pruning takes place, what logic guides the gestures of the agronomist Luigi Piersanti and his team and why this is the right time of the year to proceed.
